Will the pandemic keep Montgomery County Beekeepers Association from holding its annual Honey Tasting Contest and inscribing the winner’s name on the perpetual trophy?
No way! All current members are encouraged to submit a sample of their 2020 honey for blind tasting by a committee of honey connoisseurs. Winner and Runner Up will be announced on November 11th at the Annual Meeting.
Submission Deadline: October 21, 2020
Rules:
1. Honey to have been produced between November 2019 and October 2020 in hives worked and owned by the MCBA member submitting the sample.
2. One submission per member. Non-members are not eligible.
3. Submission to contain at least 6 oz. of honey.
4. Member’s name to be written/taped on the container (honey will be transferred to unmarked containers before judging).
5. Submissions to be dropped off at any of the locations listed below between October 1st and October 21, 2020.

1. Bethesda/Chevy Chase/DC/Cabin John area: Maureen Jais-Mick, 7017 Exfair Road, Bethesda MD 20814 (front porch)
2. Silver Spring/Wheaton area: Leon Vandenberg, 600 Vierling Drive, Silver Spring MD 20904 (car port).
3. Gaithersburg/Laytonsville area: Maryland Honey Company (Jim Fraser), 6910 Damascus Road, Gaithersburg MD 20882 (secure drop off in the shop only – Tuesdays from 12 pm to 7pm, Sundays from 10 am to 5pm)
4. Rockville/Potomac area: Frank McCowan, 13305 Cleveland Drive, Rockville MD 20850 (front porch).
