SPEAKER BIO

Dr. Lewis Bartlett is a professor of honey bee health at the University of Georgia. He specializes in infectious bee diseases, and the biology of honey bee parasites. Dr. Lewis trained in York, Cambridge, Exeter, & Falmouth in the UK, in San Francisco, California, and Atlanta and Athens, GA. While his research originally focussed on understanding what drives outbreaks of honey bee diseases, it has grown to include studying the effects of poor nutrition and pesticides on bee health. He is also developing a treatment for small hive beetles that is deadly to beetles but safe for the bees!
