BIOGRAPHY

ROB SNYDER is a honey bee health field specialist for the Bee Informed Partnership. He is based at the University of California, Davis, and helps queen breeders across California identify bee traits that help colonies resist parasites and diseases. This keeps bees healthier with less help from beekeeper-added chemical treatments.
Rob received his B.S. in biology from Delaware Valley College, PA where he attained the majority of his entomological knowledge under the guidance of Dr. Robert Berthold. After graduation, he was an apiary inspector for 2 years at the Pennsylvania Dept. of Agriculture, focused on collecting and cataloging native bees for The Pennsylvania Native Bee Survey (PANBS)

Fun Facts about Rob:  He's an expert in Haworthia succulents and has over 1500 species! He collects custom and specialty flashlights. He also holds the record of being the longest serving BIP Tech Transfer Team Field Specialist - 11 Years!
