Attendees are invited to bring jars of honey and products to be tested in his demonstration. He will also explain guidelines for judging non-honey products such as soaps, lotions, gift baskets, and posters.

SPEAKER BIO
Jim Fraser is owner of Maryland Honey Company, a small, local, family-owned business located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Jim is a third-generation beekeeper, who learned beekeeping from his father at a young age. Jim manages around 150 colonies of honey bees and provides pollination services for local orchards and farms.
As an Eastern Apiculture Society Certified Master Beekeeper since 2014, Jim believes that education is key to successful beekeeping. Speaking to beekeeping classes, beekeeping clubs, civic groups, and customers at his shop allows him to share his knowledge about beekeeping. Jim is also a Certified Honey Show judge and a former President of the Maryland State Beekeepers Association. He is a Director-at-large of the Montgomery County Beekeepers Association, long-time Superintendent of the Honey and Wax Show at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, and coordinator of the 2024 Eastern Apicultural Society honey show. A usually humble guy, he asked us to add to this bio that he is "dashing, charming, and daring."
