B.I.G. goal:
The goal of MCBA's Bee Impact Grant (BIG) is to improve the health of honey bees.
We do this by awarding the annual Bee Impact Grant to a honey bee researcher or group whose work focuses on understanding and improving honey bee welfare, and/or developing/disseminating best management practices to ensure honey bee sustainability.
Ideal candidates:
- Focus on solving problems facing honeybees and beekeepers – maintaining colony health and honey production.
- Have a connection to Maryland – living in, working in, or their work must benefit Maryland beekeepers.
Deadlines:
- The BIG nomination deadline for the current year is July 1.
- The MCBA board will announce the winner in August.
