CONSIGNMENT RULES and PRICING for the 2019 Montgomery County Agricultural Fair

Please read this page carefully if you are considering selling your honey at the county fair:

  1. All consignors must be an MCBA, Inc. member in good standing. All consigned items must have been produced by the member.
  2. All consignors must work at least 4 volunteer hours at one of the MCBA, Inc. sponsored display areas during the Montgomery County Fair, August 10 – 17, 2019.   If the consignor is unable to volunteer, they must arrange for another member in good standing to volunteer in their place.  The member volunteering must include this information on their SignUp Genius volunteer application. If the required volunteer hours are not worked by the consignor or their substitute, the consignor’s products will be removed from the sales booth and consignor will forfeit 60% of their retail sales.
  3. 250 Pound Consignment LIMIT:  Due to 2019’s heavy honey harvest, eligible members may consign a maximum of 250 pounds of combined honey products.  If MCBA, Inc. is able to accommodate additional consignments, the Superintendent will notify consignors. No exceptions.

  7. Products are accepted on a consignment basis only.  Consignors will be paid only for products actually sold.  Checks will be mailed to consignors within six weeks after the fair closes.
  8. The MCBA, Inc., Fair Committee determines the final retail sales prices, listed below, which include a 10% commission for MCBA, Inc. to cover Fair operating expenses for the club.

To compute your income from sell-by-weight items, multiply the number of ounces in your jar by price per ounce listed in the "Consignor Receives" column. Example 1: if you are selling 8 ounce jars of liquid honey, multiply 8 x .675 = $5.40 Example 2: if you are selling 12 ounce jars of honey, multiply 12 x .675 = $8.10
