Federal food labeling requirements

If you are bottling and selling honey (including for private events), you are required by law to meet federal food labeling requirements. All text should be in a legible font and size and should include:

  1. "Honey" (prominent, bold text)
  2. Your business name (can be your logo)
  3. Full address (or city, state, zip if your business is searchable on google)
  4. "Net Weight US (metric)" (bottom 1/3 of label, words can be abbreviated)
  5. An "infant botulism warning" (not required but best practice)
