Bee Biology Class

TUITION: $25 and a current MCBA membership

PREREQUISITE: Interest in Bees Knees and other Honey Bee Anatomy & Biology

DATE: Saturday, September 14, 2019

TIME: 9:30am - 12:30pm

LOCATION: Upper County Community Recreation Center, Social Hall, 8201 Emory Grove Road, Gaithersburg, MD  20877

CLASS SIZE: Limited to the first 50 members who enroll.

DESCRIPTION: Be the Bee! If you better understand bees' bodies and their drives, you'll be ready to help your bees thrive.

Larry will explain:

  • How bees arrive pre-programmed with TWO PRIMARY GOALS
  • The equipment bees have evolved to accomplish those goals
  • What you can do to make their jobs easier.

TEACHER: Larry Truchon, Master Beekeeper

FROM LARRY: Larry Truchon is the current president of the Carroll County Beekeepers and also a member of three other Beekeeping  Associations. He was certified an EAS Master Beekeeper in 2016. Larry heads the CCBA annual Short Course and gives presentations to local bee clubs, other organizations, and the general public.
Mr. Truchon strives to keep his apiary self sustainable by rearing his own queens and overwintering nucleus colonies. Larry believes that knowing and understanding honey bee biology is a major component in being a successful beekeeper.

  • Light snacks will be provided

  • Tuition is non-refundable, but with advanced MCBA approval, you may sell / give your ticket to another MCBA member for face value or less.
  • Carpool if you can. It's an eco-friendly way to build club conraderie!
