HONEY DATE NUT BALLS

EAS 2018 HONEY SHOW ENTRY

COOKIES, BARS AND BROWNIES - 3RD PLACE RIBBON

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups pitted dates

2 cups raisins, soaked and drained

2 cups walnuts (but other nuts work just as well)

a good scoop of honey in which to roll the balls

coarsely ground walnuts (or other nut) in which to roll the balls

DIRECTIONS:

Place the 2 cups of dates, raisins and nuts in a food processor and blend until a smooth paste forms.  Take a small amount and roll in palm of your hand.  Place the balls in the freezer until they are hard.  Then take honey and make a layer of it on a plate.  Take the coarsely ground nuts and put on another plate.  Roll the frozen balls first in the honey and then in the nuts.

Ready to serve!
